Clashes continuing Jan. 28 between the members of Kenya's Kikuyu and Luo tribes threaten to make the Luo-dominated western region inaccessible for trade and transportation. Despite ongoing negotiations in the capital, tribal clashes in western Kenya could effectively partition the country — a similar result to what occurred in the West African nation of Cote d'Ivoire.
