Myanmar, Bangladesh: Agreement Tries to Pave the Way for Repatriation

In the past six weeks, over 500,000 Rohingya have fled Myanmar for Bangladesh. The crisis, precipitated by a military crackdown on insurgents, has brought intense international pressure on Myanmar's de facto leader, Aung San Suu Kyi. Bangladesh and Myanmar reached an agreement Oct. 2 to form a joint working group to vet refugees for repatriation. The plan, however, gives no clear timeline and no indication of how to resolve the underlying security situation....
