The New EU Commission Frustrates Germany

Summary
Germany and the newly appointed European Commission have different visions for Europe's future, which has caused tension between the two. Though Germany has played a dominant role in crisis talks with Greece, the European Commission is ultimately in charge of supervising European national budgets. Despite German disapproval, the commission will continue being accommodative when it comes to overseeing the budgets of EU heavyweights.
