Summary
The Niger Movement for Justice rebel group threatened attacks targeting uranium exports and mining facilities, according to Feb. 1 media reports. The group, which wants a share of the proceeds generating from mining in Tuareg territory, probably cannot attack the mines themselves. But it is certainly capable of attacking and kidnapping personnel at isolated military and mining outposts and of mining roads, thereby blocking supply chain movements.
