Summary
The former governor of Nigeria's Rivers state gained a perpetual injunction against arrest for crimes he allegedly committed. The March 5 federal high court ruling granting Peter Odili immunity from investigation and arrest essentially seals a deal with the Niger Delta's leading political godfather in return for the sacrifice of his militant thugs. It also paves the way for a treason case against a member of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta.
