Gaza Rocket Impact Sites in Israel

During the current escalation in Gaza, Islamist militants have fired rockets deeper into Israel than ever before. Impacts near Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Dimona have been reported. The ability to launch rockets this far into Israel puts the largest population centers, as well as critical facilities such as the Dimona nuclear reactor, at risk. The only known rocket in Hamas' arsenal capable of reaching so far into Israel is the Iranian-made Fajr-5. So far, most of the Fajr-5 rockets that have been fired have failed to hit population centers due to their inaccuracy. Out of 16 Fajr-5s launched, only two hit populated areas of Tel Aviv. The map shows the locations of impacts near significant targets; others have come down in the sea or in open fields. A rocket was also reported to have landed near Gush Etzion, which, while farther away from the city, is in the area of the southern access to Jerusalem.
