OPEC: Evaluating the Production Cuts

Summary

Several member states of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries have announced production cuts — but not enough, probably, to prop up the price of oil in the face of a global recession. As the slowdown deepens, Saudi Arabia is looking for the sweet spot that will bring it sufficient income while making rivals Iran and Venezuela sweat.
