The imminent retirement of Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf's two immediate military subordinates has led to a major reshuffling of the country's top brass. In this round of appointments and promotions, Musharraf has named senior officers who will back him if he decides to remain a military chief — or help ease him into a civilian presidency if and when he decides to do so.
