Pakistan's main Taliban grouping, the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), reportedly has named Hakeemullah Mehsud to be its new leader. The announcement comes after a period of TTP disarray that followed the death of its founder and former leader, Baitullah Mehsud. Though in the short term Hakeemullah's rise could mean more attacks, the overall coherence of the TTP remains in question.
