Pan-Islamism Vs. Palestinian Nationalism

Al Qaeda threatened to attack the United States and its allies to retaliate for Israel's killing of Hamas founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. This is al Qaeda's way of trying to forge relations with Palestinian militant Islamist groups. The two sides are unlikely to directly coordinate, but the threat will boost al Qaeda's ratings in the Muslim world.
