Summary
Rival Philippine militant groups the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Moro National Liberation Front announced June 18 that they are joining forces, at least in the political realm. The move will put pressure on Manila to strike a peace deal with the MILF, but it could also free up the government's resources to deal with more heated insurgencies.
