Poland: The Geopolitical Significance of Poland

Despite the fact that the United States has terminated its plans for a fixed ballistic missile defense installation in Poland, talks over the possibility of deploying a Patriot air defense battery there for training and possibly more permanent stationing appear to remain on the table. Poland's geography makes it a critical place in Europe and Russia. It is not a place Washington will soon abandon.
