Some initial findings have indicated that omicron, while very contagious, may not affect the lungs as severely as the delta variant or the original strain of COVID-19. But our experts say it is still too early to count on that data, and agree that three vaccine shots are necessary to ensure protection from the worst effects of the quickly spreading strain.
