Summary
Sulim Yamadayev, the former Chechen military commander whose brother Ruslan recently was assassinated, said Sept. 29 that his family has no "blood feud enemies," referring to rival clan leader Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov. This is a reversal of Yamadayev's Sept. 26 declaration that there would be a "bloodbath" in Chechnya after his brother's death. The Kremlin is pulling the strings that led to Yamadayev's change of heart.
