Russia reportedly has used third-party intermediaries Venezuela and Belarus to transfer radar equipment to Iran. The transfer occurs against a backdrop of warming Russian-Iranian relations. Whether the transaction between Russia and Iran is significant enough a contribution to Iranian air defense to carry geopolitical implications remains to be seen, however.
