Russia: Silencing the Rattling Saber

Summary

Gen. Yuri Baluyevsky, Russia's top military chief and one of the loudest anti-Western Russians, was dismissed June 3. This does not mean Moscow is changing its attitude toward the West; it simply means Moscow is silencing the main saber rattlers whose rhetoric led many to believe that Russia poses no credible threat.
