King Salman of Saudi Arabia issued a series of royal decrees Feb. 27 that reshuffled several government positions, as well as some prominent military and defense-related jobs. The king ordered the military chief of staff and commander of the Air Defense Forces to retire and appointed a new commander of the kingdom's Joint Forces. A new assistant minister of defense also was named, as was a new royal court adviser at the rank of general.
