Slovakia: A Central European Surprise

Slovakia is on track to become the first of the former Soviet territories in the European Union to join the eurozone. The country's transformation from laggard to leader under Robert Fico's nationalist/populist/pro-Russian government is more than an oddity; it is precisely the sort of surprise the eurozone needs in order to sweep up all of Central Europe.
