Summary

Load-shedding electricity cuts were scheduled to begin at South Africa's port of Durban April 16 as part of attempts to deal with a power crisis in the country. However, according to STRATFOR sources, container shipping operations disrupted at Durban will not likely be able to be redirected elsewhere. Broader sector-spanning problems as a result of power cuts in South Africa are just starting to arise.
