Summary

The U.S.-sponsored Nuclear Security Summit begins April 12, and heads of state from 47 nations will be in attendance. While the nominal subject of the meeting is securing fissile material and other components that can be used to construct nuclear weapons, world leaders have much more to discuss, and the summit's most noteworthy developments may take place behind closed doors during the profusion of scheduled bilateral meetings.
