Slovakia has recalled its ambassador to Hungary for "consultations," as a new government prepares to take office in Budapest. Plans by Hungary's Fidesz party to grant citizenship to ethnic Hungarians living outside the country's borders are increasing tensions within the region. Those populations are clustered particularly in Slovakia, Serbia and Romania.
