A spate of terror attacks in Israel threatens to upend the frail peace between Jews and Arabs, which could spark another war in Gaza in a less likely scenario. A Palestinian gunman from the West Bank killed five people in the ultra-orthodox Israeli town of Bnei Brak outside Tel Aviv on March 29, the third such terror attack in just over a week. In response, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that 1,000 Israeli Defense Force troops would support the police in anti-terror operations, and security forces would sweep the West Bank and the West Bank-Israel border to prevent further attacks. Israeli politicians also condemned the attack, as did Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas in a rare statement.
