Turkey: Energy Cooperation With Armenia and Azerbaijan?
Sep 12, 2008 | 20:35 GMT

Summary
STRATFOR is getting wind of plans for Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan to enter into an energy relationship, which could reduce the effects of Russia's gains in the region after its intervention in Georgia. Given the animosity between Yerevan and Ankara (and Yerevan and Baku), STRATFOR is not convinced of the veracity of these reports. However, the underlying geopolitical dynamics suggest that such plans are by no means impossible. That said, the actualization of any such plans is contingent upon longstanding political hurdles that could be difficult to overcome.
