Turkey has been steadily building up a sphere of influence in northern Syria in recent years. But with the country's civil war entering its final phases, the Syrian government, with the help of Russia and Iran, is now directly attacking the country's northwest Idlib province. To prevent further deterioration of its position in the country's last rebel-held territory (as well as in Syria in general), Turkey is now trying to enlist the much-needed help of its European and U.S. allies....
