U.K.: Opposition Party Hardens Its Stance on a Soft Brexit

Britain will leave the European Union, but its legislators are still debating what comes after. In a Feb. 25 interview with the BBC, Labour's shadow Brexit secretary said that the party would back an amendment to the government's trade bill that would call on the British government to remain in a customs union with the European Union after Brexit. Just one day later, Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn confirmed his party's support for the amendment. Together, the statements represent the first definitive demonstration of Labour's support for a full customs union agreement with the European Union....
