Summary
The United Kingdom's first coalition government since World War II will face challenges down the road as the disparate coalition partners — the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats — attempt to reconcile their differences on numerous issues. The coalition pact addressed several major points of contention between the parties but other issues, like cutting the United Kingdom's budget deficit, will create difficulties. Both parties are determined to work together, however, and it is possible that they will overcome their differences.
