Summary
The United States and China are increasingly at odds over the former's aggressive new re-engagement policy in Southeast Asia. Though Washington will not necessarily maintain its current accelerated pace of engagement, Beijing's resistance to U.S. advances in the region will be a source of increased tension between the two countries.
