U.S. Recovery Won't Help Mexico in 2003
Nov 21, 2002 | 16:54 GMT
Summary
Mexico's economy normally would be expected to benefit from a U.S. recovery projected at nearly 3.5 percent next year. However, external competitive pressures and political reluctance to make needed reforms will hurt the country's economic performance. As a result, illegal migration from Mexico to the United States likely will climb significantly in 2003.
