Summary

U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates suggested that the Pentagon may be amenable to selling South Korea the Global Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle Oct. 17 after a meeting with his South Korean counterpart, Lee Sang Hee. Though significant in its own right, such a sale could carry broader implications concerning the broader relationship between Washington and Seoul.
