U.S.: Washington Unveils a New Strategy for Africa

The United States is planning a new approach to Africa. During a speech at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 13, U.S. national security adviser John Bolton announced the early details of a new U.S. strategy on the continent. Bolton emphasized that the United States intends to advance American trade and commercial interests, while also pushing African countries to take more responsibility for themselves. Washington will call on its African partners to ensure greater scrutiny over how U.S. taxpayer money is spent on the continent, as well as to continue the fight against radicals and extremists....
