Vietnam: Using Unions to Release Social Pressure

Summary

Vietnam appears to be encouraging workers to direct their anger over rising inflation toward their foreign bosses for not raising wages as the cost of living increases. Like Vietnam, China also has a state-controlled labor union. And like China, Vietnam is using workers as a political valve for releasing social pressure.
