Yemen: VBIED Attack a First in Hadramout

A vehicle loaded with explosives rammed into a police station and detonated July 25 in Sayun, Yemen. Sayun is in the eastern province of Hadramout, a region familiar with violence and ripe for al Qaeda recruitment. However, this is the first vehicle-borne improvised explosive device and suicide attack in Hadramout, indicating that militants in the province are stepping up the intensity of their campaign.
