Colombia: Labor Protests Shut Down 3 Major Oil Fields

Colombian state-run oil company Ecopetrol on Feb. 11 temporarily shut down its Chichimene, Castilla and CPO-9 oil fields due to protests stemming from a 2016 hiring policy, El Espectador reported Feb. 12. The protests injured four. The Chichimene and Castilla oil fields are the second- and third-highest producing fields in Colombia.
