Iran, Pakistan: Talks On Pipeline Set To Begin

Pakistan's Cabinet has approved the $1.5 billion Iran-Pakistan natural gas pipeline, and talks between Islamabad and Tehran are starting Feb. 11, Pakistani newspaper The News reported. The talks will finalize the contractual details of engineering, procurement and construction for the pipeline and will likely continue for three to four days. The contract for laying the pipeline in Pakistani territory is likely to be extended to state-owned Iranian company Tadbir. The Western-led sanctions regime against Iran has shown signs of weakening.
