Mozambique, Tanzania: Cyclone Kenneth Expected to Make Landfall

What Happened: Cyclone Kenneth is expected to make landfall in northern Mozambique and southern Tanzania on April 25, Reuters reported.

Why It Matters: Mozambique is sill reeling from the consequences of Cyclone Idai, which caused widespread destruction in March. A new tropical storm with similarly devastating power would leave the country in even more need of foreign assistance.

Background: Cyclone Idai destroyed the Mozambican port of Beira, which served as an important transport artery into southern Africa.
