Russia: Putin Considering Easing Tensions With the West to Revive Economy

Russian President Vladimir Putin is considering appointing former Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin to a Cabinet position in charge of economy and outreach with the United States and the European Union, following Putin's inauguration for a fourth term on May 7, Financial Times reported May 2. The appointment would be aimed at easing tensions with the West to revive Russia's economy amid a period of tense relations.
