Saudi Arabia: Riyadh Appoints New Ambassador To Iraq

Saudi Arabia appointed a new ambassador to Iraq, further strengthening relations between the two countries, Rudaw reported Nov. 5. Abdulaziz al-Shammari was sworn in as the new ambassador before King Salman in Riyadh. Relations between the two countries have been steadily improving with Saudi Arabia and Iraq establishing a joint coordination council in October and Saudi airline Flynas resuming flights to Iraq after a 25-year hiatus.
