Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe survived a vote of no confidence in parliament, winning 122 votes of the 225-member parliament, Reuters reported April 4. The Joint Opposition, led by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, sponsored the vote, raising allegations against Wickremesinghe that he failed to quell Buddhist-Muslim violence in March and for appointing a foreigner as the central bank governor.
