Syria: 2 Explosions Kill More Than 30

Two explosions in Syria killed more than 30 people Jan. 21, Ynet reported. One explosion took place in the district of Dumar in Damascus, causing an unknown number of casualties, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Another explosion caused by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device targeted a building used by militiamen loyal to President Bashar al Assad's regime in the town of Salmiyeh. The blast killed at least 30 people, according to Syrian state-run news agency SANA. In recent weeks, the Syrian regime has largely shifted to a defensive posture as the rebels secure additional territory in Syria's north....
