Tunisia: President's Party Withdraws Its Ministers

Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki's secular Congress for the Republic Party has withdrawn its three ministers from the Tunisian government because its demands for Cabinet changes have not been met, a party official said, Reuters reported Feb. 10. The official added that the party has been threatening to withdraw if the foreign and justice ministers were not changed. The country's interim government faces mounting obstacles that threaten national security and could deepen the divide between secular and Islamist factions.
