Turkey: Kurdish Rebels Could Go Elsewhere If They Lay Down Arms - Prime Minister

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Nov. 22 that the government could make it possible for militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, known by its Kurdish acronym PKK, to go to other countries if they lay down their weapons, Today's Zaman reported Nov. 23. Home to the world's largest Kurdish population, Turkey has long struggled to develop a policy to manage its Kurdish constituency and to neutralize Kurdish militant groups like the PKK.
