Venezuela: ConocoPhillips Accuses Venezuela Of Impropriety

In a pre-suit discovery court filing Nov. 25, ConocoPhillips subsidiary ConocoPhillips Petrozuata accused Venezuela of trying to sell state owned oil firm Citgo Petroleum Corp, or Citgo, to avoid paying a billion-dollar arbitration award, Courthouse News reported. The filing says Venezuela is trying to liquidate Citgo's assets and return them to Venezuelan jurisdictions, where they can be better protected. ConocoPhillips' suit requests the testimony and documents relating to the sale of Citgo.
