Venezuela: U.S. Considers Banning Crude Oil Imports

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said during a recent trip to Argentina that the United States is considering restrictions on Venezuelan oil exports, CNN reported Feb. 5. The restrictions would likely cripple the Venezuelan economy and force its government into default. However, it's unknown whether such restrictions would successfully push the government of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to hold free and fair elections.
