Vietnam: U.S. Carrier Arrives In Hanoi

A U.S. aircraft carrier, the USS Carl Vinson, arrived in Vietnam on March 5 for the first time since the end of the Vietnam war in 1975, Reuters reported. The U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam said the visit marks a significant milestone in bilateral relations between the two countries. The move comes amid souring relations between China and Vietnam over territorial claims in the disputed South China Sea and Beijing's growing influence in the region.
