Yemen: Houthis Will Hand Weaponry Over To Government, Spokesman Says

Houthi spokesman Mohamed Abdel-Salam confirmed that his delegation has agreed to negotiate according to the U.N. Security Council’s resolutions and relinquish high-caliber weapons to the Yemeni government, Saudi-owned media outlet Asharq Al-Awsat reported April 13. The delegation is comprised of Houthi militants and armed supporters of ousted Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh. Abdel-Salam said his deputation now considers the cease-fire that began April 10 an important step toward ending long-standing tensions and bringing a resolution to fighting.
