Essential Geopolitics: A French Teacher's Murder and the Charlie Hebdo Trial

Oct 23, 2020 | 05:00 GMT

RANE

In this episode of the Essential Geopolitics podcast from Stratfor, a RANE company, Emily Donahue speaks with Senior Global Security Analyst Ben West about the recent murder of a French teacher, who was slain for showing his class the same cartoons of the prophet Mohammed that motivated the attacks against the French magazine Charlie Hebdo in 2015. French police have yet to find any evidence linking the teacher’s killer to a wider terrorism network. But anti-Islamic and xenophobic retaliatory attacks against the Muslim community in France and elsewhere are now more likely.
